Clean energy, water and environmental research.

Advice on data and energy modelling.

ElementeX Labs plans research in clean energy, water and the environment. Its public cso-insight software checks sewer overflow reports. It uses public data.

Mission

We aim to support research on clean energy, water and the environment.

We plan computer models of climate hazards and studies of ways to measure water quality.

Planned research

Areas we plan to research include:

  • Clean energy and power grids
  • Water quality
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Cutting emissions
  • Adapting to floods, wildfire and heat, with a focus on Canada

Consulting

  • Advice on energy forecasts, computer models and checking environmental data.
  • Enquiries can cover water quality, monitoring and plans for floods, wildfire and heat.
  • We would agree the scope, sources, checks and limits in writing before work begins.

How we work

Open by design

Our public code is on GitHub. Each repository states its licence.

Research methods

We plan to state each research question, its sources and its limits.

Privacy

We favour tools that keep data on your own device where feasible.

Projects

Our public cso-insight software checks sewer overflow reports from Massachusetts, in the United States.

Public-data work sample.

CSO Insight

Loads public sewer overflow reports, checks them for errors and compares them with a simple starting estimate. These overflows occur when rain and wastewater spill into nearby water. The example uses public data from Massachusetts, in the United States.
